After 16 years working in the boating industry, I chose to set up P.I.W Narrowboat Services in March 2017. The company’s aim is simple - high quality, reliable service at competitive prices.
I was bitten by the boating bug whilst working at a local hire fleet as a Saturday lad when i was 15 years old, choosing to complete an apprenticeship with them post GCSE. I have worked with a number of local boating companies over the years, building a wealth of knowledge and experience, as well as excellent local links.
Before starting my own mobile engineering service, My most recent role was as Technical Manager for Elton Moss Boat Builders and their sister company Carefree Cruising. This involved overseeing new boat builds, ranging for 40ft narrowboats to seagoing Dutch barges; and supervising the maintenance of Carefree Cruising’s 17 shared ownership narrowboats to a very high standard. I was also responsible for supervising a team of maintenance staff and ensuring the smooth running of Kings Lock Boat Yard in Middlewich.
